<p class="" data-start="3524" data-end="3869">Malaysia’s education system has its roots in the colonial era, when British administrators established English-medium schools primarily for the elite. Meanwhile, vernacular schools in Malay, Chinese, and Tamil were set up by various communities to preserve their languages and cultures. This led to a fragmented system lacking national cohesion.
<p class="" data-start="3871" data-end="4228">After independence in 1957, the government introduced reforms to unify the education system. The <strong data-start="3968" data-end="3991">Razak Report (1956) and <strong data-start="3996" data-end="4026">Rahman Talib Report (1960) laid the groundwork for a national education policy.
